The EXB-IO8 is an interface for connection to an AMX controller, which can be used, for example, to use customized pushbutton panels to operate a controller and at the same time drive LEDs that are used for feedback on button presses. Contact closure detection from floating contacts or voltage detection via optocouplers are possible. Ideal to query states of micro switches, e.g. opening states of partitions, doors, windows, screens, projector lifts etc..
The connection can be made either directly at the control panel, if it has a corresponding interface, or via an Ethernet switch. A cable distance of 100 m between the control center and EXB-IO8, or between the switch and EXB-IO8, is possible. The EXB-IO8 can also be used as a supplement to a control center in order to have additional input/output contacts available if all IO contacts on the control center are occupied.
The integrated controllers of the Enova DGX matrixes, which do not have their own local control interfaces, can be easily supplemented with the EXB-IO8 to provide IO functions that are to be executed locally at the DGX.
