The EXB-IRS4 is used to control devices with IR interface that are installed at a distance from the control center that is too great for direct cabling. The connection can be made either directly at the control center, if it has a corresponding interface, or via an Ethernet switch. A cable distance of 100 m between the control center and EXB-IRS4, or between the switch and EXB-IRS4, is feasible.
The IR transmission commands are transmitted by cable via CC-NIRC transmitter diodes. The IR transmitter is glued to the receiver eye of the device to be controlled. The EXB-IRS4 can also be used as a supplement to a control center in order to have additional IR interfaces available if all interfaces on the control center are occupied.
The integrated controllers of the Enova DGX routers, which do not have their own local control interfaces, can easily be supplemented with the EXB-IRS4 to control devices via IR that are installed locally at the DGX.
