The AKG CS3 BU is the central control unit in any AKG CS3 system. All existing microphone units are simply connected to the AKG CS3 BU in spur lines, allowing a small to medium conference system with up to 60 microphone units to be set up and dismantled in no time.
All necessary settings are made directly and intuitively on the AKG CS3 BU control unit. Dedicated controls for volume, tone control, working mode and the number of simultaneously opened microphone units are directly accessible without the need to tediously navigate through many menus.
Four different modes for controlling the microphone units are available: Override, Normal, Free and Request . Depending on the mode, the NOM setting (number of open microphones) is taken into account and the behavior is regulated differently for additionally activated microphone units. Of course, the control unit can also be configured by computer.
Even without expensive extensions, the control unit comes with all the necessary connections. Outputs for central sound reinforcement, for connecting an external recorder, as well as line inputs for connecting a DVD player or laptop are available ex works. The AKG CS3 BU is housed in a sturdy 19" 2 U metal case with integrated power supply and survives even frequent transports in mobile use undamaged.
