The JBL VRX918SP subwoofer is based on the well-known passive JBL VRX918S sub. It uses the same 2268 woofer chassis, but is additionally equipped with a modern Crown DPC-2 power amplifier module.
The DPC-2 amplifier module has an output of 750 watts continuous or 1500 watts peak power. The highly efficient Class-D circuitry provides maximum power and sound quality at a very low weight. The compact JBL VRX918SP subwoofer weighs only 38.5 kg including the power amplifier.
On the top of the housing is an M20 tripod connection to accommodate satellite systems up to 50 kg. The equipment also includes an extensive digital signal processor (DSP), which is precisely tuned to the parameters of the chassis.
The DSP has a switchable 80 Hz Hi-Pass output for the connection of tops such as JBL VRX932LAP. For the internal 18" chassis, the lo-pass can be switched from 80 Hz to 120 Hz. The equipment is completed by lockable PowerCon power connectors with loop-through option and 4x 4 drive-in nuts on the back for mounting casters.
