The EXB-REL8 is used to realize switching operations via extra-low voltages at a distance from the control center that is too great or too costly for direct wiring.
The connection can either be made directly at the control center, if it has a corresponding interface, or via an Ethernet switch. A cable distance of 100 m between control center and EXB-REL8, or between switch and EXB-REL8 is feasible. The EXB-REL8 can also be used as a supplement to a control center in order to have additional potential-free contacts available if all contacts on the control center are occupied.
The integrated controllers of the Enova DGX matrixes, which do not have their own local control interfaces, can easily be supplemented with the EXB-REL8 to realize relay circuits that are to be executed locally at the DGX. Typical uses for dry contacts is to control contactors for switching lights and other loads, blackouts, screens or projector lifts via dry contact inputs.
The contacts of the EXB-REL8 can be used as a permanent contact or as a wiping contact.
