The AKG P820 Tube is an excellent tube microphone for recording vocals, brass, guitar and drums. Solo instruments and voices in particular benefit from the tube technology. It provides harmonic harmonics that produce a full, vivid sound. In the mix, the vocals and instruments come through better.
The special feature of the AKG P820 Tube is that you can choose between nine directional patterns. This allows the microphone to cover all recording situations. The operation and phantom powering is done via an external control unit. The various directional characteristics can be set on it. A switchable bass-cut filter effectively suppresses mechanical vibrations such as impact sound.
The switchable 20 dB level reduction allows very loud sound sources up to 155 dB to be recorded without distortion. In addition, a ground lift switch prevents annoying hum caused by ground loops. An elastic spider mount, the control unit, a cable and an aluminum case are included.
