The AKG HT420 handheld transmitter is equipped with a display to indicate the transmission channel and a control LED for the battery status. With only one AA battery or NiMh rechargeable battery, the system runs up to 8 hours. The gain switch is used to adjust the sensitivity of the audio signal in two steps. In addition, the handheld transmitter has a crack-free on/off/mute switch. The integrated charging contacts allow the handheld transmitter to be conveniently charged in the optional CU400 charging station
The well-known D5 capsule in the transmitter has a supercardioid polar pattern. This makes the microphone particularly insensitive to handling noise, safe against feedback when used on stage and ensures that the voice has the right assertiveness. An internal windscreen effectively suppresses pop and wind noise.
