The JBL SCS 8 is a specially designed cinema surround speaker for ceiling and wall mounting. The coaxial arrangement of the 8" woofer and the 1" tweeter allows for an extremely homogeneous frequency response and excellent directional localization. The power handling of 250 watts (IEC, 2 hr) and the maximum sound pressure of 124 dB peak are sufficient to provide perfect acoustic coverage for all seats in small and medium-sized halls.
The high-quality equipment with Kevlar reinforced woofer cone, 2" woofer voice coil and polymer tweeter cone guarantee faithful reproduction of speech, music, sounds or effects. The axisymmetrical dispersion pattern of 120° x 120° allows free rotation and panning of the loudspeaker for exact acoustic illumination of the audience area even in halls with low ceiling heights. This makes the SCS 8 ideal for multitone formats such as Dolby Atmos.
The specially molded ABS plastic enclosure with internal bracing is very low in resonance. The included U-bracket is easy to mount and allows for mechanical alignment on 2 axes. Another M6 mounting point is provided for additional protection against falling.
The SCS 8 speaker is black and weighs 9.8 kg without U-bracket or 11.6 kg with U-bracket.
