The JBL AWC82 (AWC = All Weather Compact) is an 8"/1" weatherproof outdoor loudspeaker with coaxial chassis arrangement and built-in and switchable 70/100 volt transformer. The coverage angle is 120°x120°. The paintable enclosure is made of gray laminated plastic reinforced with fiberglass. The three-layer speaker cover is constructed of powder-coated galvanized steel grille, acoustic foam and fine fabric. The JBL AWC82 is certified IP56 for outdoor use at 5° downward tilt in accordance with IEC 529.
The 8" woofer chassis has a weather-resistant Kevlar cone and 50mm voice coil. The 1" tweeter is equipped with SonicGuard overload protection. Maximum sound pressure is 124 dB peak in 8 ohm operation. The frequency range is from 80 Hz to 20 kHz at -10 dB. Continuous power handling in 8 ohm operation is 250 watts. The integrated 70/100 volt transformer has power taps at 200 watts, 100 watts, 50 watts as well as 25 watts (70 volts only).
The rear tapered enclosure has two M10 threads for the U-bracket. The powder-coated galvanized steel U-bracket is included. Another M6 mounting point is used to secure it. Typical applications are outdoor sound reinforcement applications such as amusement parks, sports stadiums, swimming pools, outdoor stages or cruise ships.
Optionally, the JBL AW speakers are also available in black instead of gray.
