The AKG CGN99 C is a gooseneck microphone for churches, town halls and conference rooms. Its very wide pickup angle of 125° and cardioid polar pattern make it especially recommended for inexperienced speakers. Even if the speaker often changes his position in front of the microphone, the sound image of the microphone remains consistent.
The speech intelligibility of the AKG CGN99 C is excellent. The optimal speaking distance is between 30 - 60 cm. The flexible joint in the gooseneck allows the microphone to be precisely aligned. The gooseneck of the CGN99 C/L is 57.6 cm long and of the CGN99 C/S 38 cm.
A foam windscreen prevents annoying popping and breathing noises. To suppress noise in the bass range, the microphone has a switchable bass attenuator.
The AKG CGN99 C is a condenser microphone and requires a power supply (phantom power) of 9 - 52 volts. It can be connected to the microphone input of the mixing console or to a phantom power supply via the XLR connector.
Various microphone holders, a table stand and a table microphone station are optionally available from AKG.
