The JBL VTX A8 line array is designed for short and medium distances with high and consistent level and quality requirements. Typical applications are events such as halls, stadiums, theaters or open-air events.
The chassis or drivers were newly developed except for the tweeter section. The high-frequency drivers were taken from the VTX A12 to reproduce the brilliant high-frequency image of its bigger brother. This allows for exceptionally good performance with up to 140 dB SPL peak. The controlled 110° dispersion extends down to 300 Hz. The low lower cutoff frequency also allows operation without a subwoofer, depending on the event. The 3-way A8 system is driven in bi-amp mode. Crown I-Tech HD are used exclusively as system amplifiers.
The 4-point rigging system was also adopted from the VTX A12. It works with an "auto-locking" function, which makes setup very fast and safe. Extensive accessories such as dollies, covers, variable flying frames facilitate the transport as well as the assembly and disassembly.
The software package "Performance Manager" and the "Line-Array Calculator" accompanies the VTX operator step by step. It supports planning, simulation, configuration, remote operation and monitoring of the system. This ensures correct operation and consistent results.
