The JBL Control HST (Hemispherical Soundfield Technology) loudspeaker is a 2-way wall mounted loudspeaker. Typical applications are catering, retail stores, schools, hotel lobbies, waiting areas, foyers, etc.
The JBL Control HST speaker has 2 tweeters on the front angled to each other. The woofer is located on the back of the cabinet. The mounting is done thanks to a special holder with exact distance from the wall. This is thus used as a reflection surface and enlarged baffle. Thus, uncontrollable reflections with phase cancellations are avoided.
The result is a balanced frequency response over a very wide dispersion range of 180° x 160°. Compared to concepts with multiple loudspeakers, there are also no delay problems or phase cancellations. The result is a homogeneous reproduction with high speech intelligibility.
The JBL HST technology gets by with fewer loudspeakers. This reduces effort and costs. In addition, the integration into the architecture / interior design is facilitated.
