The dbx AFS2 effectively suppresses feedback without altering the sound. It is an indispensable tool for concerts and live productions.

The dbx AFS2 has an extremely fast feedback detection algorithm. If feedback occurs, the algorithm takes corrective action. Extremely narrow notch filters are set (down to 1/80 of an octave), removing unwanted feedback frequencies. Since only a fraction of the frequency spectrum is processed, any change in the sound is barely audible.

The dbx AFS2 operates in two modes:

In Fixed mode, filters are set for frequencies that cause feedback. Once assigned, the settings are retained and stored. For vocals and music, there are corresponding presets. In Live mode, the audio signal is analyzed in real time, feedback is detected and removed. This mode is especially helpful for concerts and presentations. For example, when singers change their position, new feedback frequencies constantly appear. All filter assignments are constantly updated and those that are no longer needed are automatically removed via the Filter Lift function.

The operation of the dbx AFS2 is very user-friendly. It is done via push buttons and a comfortable rotary control. All settings are shown on the LCD display. The device can be configured in just a few steps using the Wizard function. However, the AFS2 can also be set completely manually.
