The JBL 5628 is an extreme high-power subwoofer equipped with the latest "Differential Drive" chassis technology. Each of the two 18" drivers has 2 voice coils with a power handling capacity of 2,000 watts (5628 total 4,000 watts). Due to the very large diaphragm excursions as well as the deep bass-reflex tuning, the lower cut-off frequency is 18 Hz.
This high-power bass-reflex system is perfectly suited for demanding 7.1 and "immersive sound" applications like "Dolby Atmos". For very large halls, several 5628 can also be combined. This can generate an even higher sound pressure and, depending on the placement or room acoustics, a more even bass distribution can be achieved.
