The JBL AWC159 (AWC = All Weather Compact) is a coaxial, weatherproof 15"/1" outdoor loudspeaker. Typical applications are outdoor sound reinforcement applications such as amusement parks, sports stadiums, swimming pools, outdoor stages or cruise ships.
The weather-resistant Kevlar cone has a 75 mm voice coil. The high frequency driver is coaxial. The maximum sound pressure is 131 dB peak in 8 Ohm operation. The frequency range is from 52 Hz to 20 kHz at -10 dB. The continuous power handling is 500 watts (8 ohms).
The dispersion angle is 90°x90°. The paintable enclosure is made of gray laminated plastic reinforced with fiberglass. The three-layer speaker cover is constructed of powder-coated galvanized steel grille, acoustic foam and fine fabric. The JBL AWC159 is certified IP56 for outdoor use at 5° downward tilt in accordance with IEC 529.
The enclosure has two M10 threads for the U-bracket. The powder coated galvanized steel U-bracket is included. Another M6 mounting point is used for securing.
