The Soundcraft Vi3000 is a digital mixing console with integrated DSP and inputs/outputs. With 36 faders and four Vistonics touchscreens, the console is designed like the Vi4 surface in terms of controls.
Spider Core - compact, top-of-the-line DSP performance
Consoles in the Soundcraft Vi3000 performance class can usually only be operated with external DSP or with external I/O. To integrate both into the console at the highest level, Harman developed a new "DSP machine", the Spider Core. This is already used in the Studer Vista 1 and has now been redimensioned for the Soundcraft Vi3000. An optimally tuned mix of FPGA and SHARC processing technology enables routing and DSP capabilities unprecedented for this size and price range. STUDER 40 bit floating point, Lexicon effects units, BSS DPR901/FCS960 EQs - all familiar buzzwords that have helped define the status of the Vi series.
Thanks to Spider Core, the Soundcraft Vi3000 offers 96 mixer channels, 24 mono or stereo buses (aux, group or matrix). Another ten fixed-conguration buses are available for the LCR summing and solo rails. 128 tie lines (point-to-point connections) complete the signal routing. The Spider Core provides the Soundcraft Vi3000 with an impressive pool of 246 inputs and/or outputs for patching to channels, busses and tie lines.
Integrated I/O
These 246 inputs and 214 outputs are distributed as follows: Four bays with 16 XLR connectors each on the rear panel. This allows for analog 48/16, 32/32 or 16/48 configurations, for example. In addition, the Soundcraft Vi3000 has integrated Dante, MADI and AES interfaces as well as two optional D21m dual card slots. These can be used to retrofit almost all I/O formats available on the market (4x single card, 2x double card). Furthermore, two stageboxes can be connected via MADI (fiber or RJ45/Cat) using these slots.
Like all Soundcraft digital mixing consoles, the Soundcraft Vi3000 can be complemented with all Soundcraft STUDER stageboxes. Existing show files from other Vi consoles can be loaded into the Soundcraft Vi3000 and vice versa. Channel and bus processing, extensive scene automation, monitoring and talkback options, gang function, copy & paste - everything is identical to the existing Vi consoles. The Soundcraft Realtime Racks (Universal Audio Plug-Ins) as well as the ViSi Remote App are also supported by the Soundcraft Vi3000.
