JBL VTX-V20 - Passive Line Array Element

The JBL VTX-V20 line array is a 3-way system with 2x 10", 4x 4" and 3x 1.5" drivers. The high density of drivers ensures small distances between the individual sound sources. Thus, the difference in runtime is minimal and the desired acoustic coupling is made possible.

The JBL V20 realizes a reproduction quality and sound pressure that were previously unattained in this class. The components used work with the latest technologies and materials such as neodymium magnets or dual voice coils. The patented D2 high-frequency driver technology enables a particularly fine resolution and powerful high-frequency reproduction. Inside the driver, two ring diaphragms operate with separate voice coils and magnetic fields. The lower mass of the ring diaphragms compared to conventional diaphragms ensures better impulse response with the same diaphragm area. The two voice coils allow high power handling and sound pressure needed for long distances.

The newly developed ASM rigging includes four connections for high security. Two modes are available to angle the JBL V20 system. On the one hand, the angles can be fixed directly during array setup (Fix Mode). On the other hand, a presetting of the angles on the dolly is possible. The systems are lifted vertically at 0° and then pulled to the correct angle and locked (Compression Mode). For transport, 4x V20 are lowered vertically on top of each other on a dolly and packed with a protective cover.

The JBL V20 system is driven 3-way active or bi-amp. Only Crown I-Tech HD are used as system amplifiers. A wide variety of manufacturer settings are available for this, which are loaded depending on the application and configuration.

The "Performance Manager" software package accompanies the VTX operator step by step. It supports the planning, simulation, configuration, remote control and monitoring of the system. This ensures correct operation and consistent results.

The JBL VTX-V20 line array is designed for long distances with high level and quality requirements. Due to its compact dimensions, the system can be easily integrated into any production, even in confined spaces. Typical applications are events with high acoustic requirements such as in halls, theaters, large clubs or open-air events.
