This high quality console offers a simple user interface for a reasonable price. The components used have low tolerances. This allows accurate tuning, which is especially important for the preamp and equalizer.
The Soundcraft EFX 8 offers 8 mono and 2 stereo channels. For the first time in this price range, the GB30 preamp design is used, known from the GB series consoles. These preamps are extremely resistant to overload. They have a control range of 55 dB and provide +22 dB of headroom. Phantom power supplies condenser microphones of any type with true +48 volts.
The Lexicon effects section is equipped with a high-quality 24-bit processor - incidentally, the same Audio DNA processor used in the Lexicon MX400. 32 effect presets are available. These can also be modified and saved by the user in three parameters. A mute function and PFL (monitoring) option and the TAP delay feature optimize the application possibilities.
A 3-band equalizer with tunable mids, two aux busses, insert jacks for the channels and the sum, a 10 segment LED output meter, jack sockets (Neutrik) and professional XLR sockets complete the extensive equipment.
A switching power supply is integrated. The power cord jack is located in such a way that no additional space need to be considered for rack mounting.
The Soundcraft EFX 8 is suitable for live sound reinforcement, fixed installations as well as recording applications.
