The JBL CWT128 is a speaker with extremely wide dispersion. Its dispersion angle is 160° horizontally and 60° vertically. The JBL CWT 128 is equipped with 2x 8" 228J (LF) and 2x 1" 2408H-1 (HF). The continuous power handling is 400 watts (peak 1,600 watts). The impedance is 8 ohms. The integrated 70/100 volt transformer has taps at 110, 55 and 28 watts (70 volts only). For installation, various mounting points are provided for optional eyebolts and external ball joint brackets (optional).
Due to the enormously wide dispersion, a single JBL CWT128 mounted centrally on the wall, for example, can acoustically cover almost the entire room. This unique dispersion pattern is based on a new, patented JBL "Crossfired" horn that combines the sound energy from two drivers and delivers it extremely wide and evenly into the room.
Conventional loudspeakers would be arranged in pairs side-by-side in this application. However, this arrangement has significant disadvantages in the form of cancellations, which can be very annoying, especially when it comes to speech intelligibility.
The areas of application include all applications that have a very wide listening area. Typical applications are all variants of near-field sound reinforcement, paging systems, small to medium main sound reinforcement with external subwoofers, support systems, AV areas, etc..
The system is also available in white or weather resistant WRC and WRX finish upon request.
