The JBL VTX-S28 (S = Suspension) is a flyable, high-power 2x 18" subwoofer to complement VTX-V25 line arrays. The two 18" drivers work with the latest technologies such as neodymium magnets and dual voice coils and achieve an extremely large stroke.
The S28's wide frequency response of 24 - 400 Hz (-10 dB) rounds out both the VTX-V25's downward and overlapping upward frequency ranges. The overlap allows flown JBL VTX-S28 subs to extend the line array length and expand the resulting cylindrical wave in the relevant range.
The special side flying frames also allow for 180° rotated flying. Thus, modern cardioid configurations can also be integrated in the flown array. In addition, the JBL VTX-S28 can be placed sideways on the ground or upright.
