The JBL Control 8138 is a very affordable ceiling speaker for commercial applications such as shopping malls, hotels, restaurants, open-plan offices, department stores and museums.
The 8" chassis is suitable for speech reproduction and for music signals. Due to the high efficiency of 97 dB, the JBL Control 8138 requires little amplifier power. Therefore, several models can be easily connected together. The speaker has a 70/100 volt transformer with four or three taps.
The optional MTC-81BB8 enclosure can be pre-installed in the shell (e.g. casting of the concrete ceiling), so that the JBL Control 8138 only needs to be inserted during interior finishing.
In addition, the housing provides a defined and delimited air volume, which allows the speaker to operate in a controlled manner even in open, suspended ceilings.
In addition, the weight can be absorbed by the also optional metal part MTC-TB8 and distributed on a ceiling grid.
